These problems are the result of mostly UCSD user testing and some UCSF. The MuscleSegmentation plugin has its own wiki page.

Problems with MIPAV 4.4.1 and java 1.6.0

None reported yet, note that MuscleSegmentation is now MuscleSegmentation441 from here.

Problems with MIPAV 4.1.2 and java 1.5.0

A list of problems found in MuscleSegmentation by UCSD using java1.5.0_13 and 12 - note that MuscleSegmentation now requires java1.6

  • Statistics take longer to compute in 4.4 than 4.1 (specifically 4.1.2 and 4.1.10 had reasonable speeds) - fixed, also works well in VOI conversion
  • In custom pane, VOIs can only be added in first pane (both before and after a profile has been loaded fixed, works with 1.6
  • Statistics errors, need sample data - fixed, update problem solved
  • GUI shows up as black on Mac, does not appear to happen with other MIPAV plugins - fixed

Features

  • unit consideration - added, functional
  • output per-slice - added, functional

No problems found, more testing needed:

  • Overwriting VOIs, check that file has actually been written over - tested

Mipav features:

  • Default VOI thickness of two, unable to change system-wide - fixed
  • Alt tracing:
    • Unusual VOI flashing fixed in newer versions of MIPAV
    • Feature: VOI tracing without edge detection? working on new VOIs
  • Open all VOIs from..., if folder is selected, open button should not disable - fixed
