Beth Tyrie is a graduate of Wofford College with a B.S. in Biology with and an Emphasis in Computational Science. Her previous research experience includes analyzing cuttlefish camouflage images at the Marine Biological Laboratory, studying Peacock flounder camouflage at the Bonaire CIEE Research Station, and working as a Post-baccalaureate NIH Research Fellow in the Biomedical Research Services Section. The underlying theme of her research interests is to use her diverse computational skills to help solve environmental problems. She will be working with Dr. Leslie North on a project that combines GIS capabilities with eye tracking techniques to investigate how people interpret karst environment educational displays and interpretative signs.
